Halloween Cupcakes

Happy Halloween! How was everyone's weekend? My horror fest with Jim fell a little short on Saturday night but I've still got today to make up for it. I did, however, bake some delicious Halloween cupcakes.








I love baking. I might have mentioned that before, but I truly do. My problem is I often bake too much and don't have enough people to feed my creations to. It's sad. So usually Jim takes them to work. These are chocolate cupcakes with pumpkin cream cheese frosting. But I'm not sure if it can really be considered cream cheese frosting - it also has a lot of butter in it. I got the recipe for the pumpkin frosting here, but I tweaked it just a smidge, replacing the cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg with pumpkin pie spice. Because really, its kinda the same thing, and I'm lazy. The chocolate cupcakes are Hershey's Perfectly Chocolate chocolate cake recipe, which you can find here or one the back of a Hershey's cocoa box. :D

Jewelry favorites

I've been a complete bum this morning. I didn't take my dog for a run, and it's almost 11AM and I'm still in my pajamas. I attribute my lack of motivation to the fact that I ran out of coffee.
Sad face. I was super upset when I discovered this, and had to settle for tea. I like tea, I do, but coffee is like my lover. I have an affair with it every morning. It's not that I can't complete function without it either. I just find its taste to be divine. I guess I will have to run out today and get some.

I wanted to show you all some of my favorite jewelry. I have way too much. I don't know if I've mentioned it on here before but I really am addicted and for the past YEAR I've really been trying not to buy any. I have so much and I don't wear even half of it. Here are some pictures of, maybe, 1/4 of my collection.

Sorry the last picture is a little dark. The last three pieces are all homemade. I should probably organize my collection, and sometime soon. But the last five are currently my favorites. Can't stop wearing them.

Halloween Inspiration

All right so Halloween is this coming weekend?! Well, Monday really, but still! I can't believe how fast October is going. Not sure what I'll be doing on Halloween, since James has work. But the weekend is probably going to be a chill one. Last weekend at the Navy Ball took a lot out of me. I'm thinking tons of scary movies, candy and cupcakes and whatever other Halloween recipes I can whip up. I don't think I'll dress up though. I was going to just in case we got trick-or-treaters, but we didn't get any last year, which made me really sad. There must be some other place here in South Florida where parents take their kids for Halloween. So, with the weekend fast approaching, here's some Halloween inspiration for you all. What about you guys? Anyone dressing up/doing something really fun?

Hello Monday, I'm very happy to see you

How to start this post, hm. Navy Ball was a blast? That's an understatement. Let me show you in mediocre pictures taken with an iPhone in my drunken hand. Or someone else's drunken hand.
















Now I should backtrack. Saturday around 2PM we checked in at the Westin Diplomat Hotel, which was probably the fanciest hotel I've ever stayed at. After checking in, we explored and got some grub at one of the restaurants at the hotel called Rivals. The food was awesome, and so was the atmosphere. Then it was time to get ready! Hair, makeup, dress, pregaming, in that order.

Lots of pictures, I know. I can't really describe how much fun this night was. We went out to the bars in Fort Lauderdale afterward, and didn't get back to the hotel until 4AM. It was a crazy night. I should mention I really don't drink that much, and I haven't drank in a while. So I guess that's why on Sunday morning my body flipped me the finger. TMI, but I threw up in Jim's car on the way home, and then again once I got home. I then proceeded to sleep Sunday away. No really, I slept until 5PM, woke up and ate, then slept the rest of the night until about 7 this morning. I suppose that's why I'm happy its Monday. All that sleep left my skin looking pretty nice though. :)
