With the move fast approaching, I can't help but be super excited for the places I plan on visiting. I'm going to explore the second we get out there (after we find a place to live of course). Jessica-fact of the day: I'm in love with Japan and mostly everything Japanese. I plan to live there some day, and its a very real probability, since Jim is in the Navy.(He already lived there for three years, I'm so jealous.) Here in Miami, there's lots of sushi places, but that's about it. There is one Japanese market about an hour away up towards North Miami beach, and believe me when I say its awesome. But, like I said, its an hour away. And the only museum I know of is the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, which again is closer to two hours away.
San Diego on the other hand has a plethora of Japanese culture. At least that's how it seems in the research I've done. Next to Japan, I'm sure this city will help get my Japanese fix on.
There's...
The Japanese Friendship Garden at Balboa Park
The Japanese American Historical Society
Mitsuwa Marketplace and
Marukai, which I might add, keeps sending me catalogs in the mail, only to make me squee with delight and fill me with dismay all at the same time. I'm impatient.
These are just a few places I've found, and not to mention the sushi. The SUSHI. I can't wait.
If any of you guys know of some places in San Diego that will feed my obsession, let me know!
ALSO, it seems San Diego is a little more dog friendly, as there are numerous off-leash dog parks. Miami barely has any. I'm not trying to drive real far to let my dog get some of her energy out. And I'm not trying to dis Miami either. But I don't like it here much. That's all I'll say.
With all that said, I have a LOT of work to do. Lists to make, things to throw away and get organized for when the movers come. I'm sure February will be here before I know it.

Haha I would eat sushi everyday if I could, no joke! I think I probably eat sushi every two weeks too, somewhere around there. I love it sooo much. And my bf Jim has that problem, in fact last time we got sushi he got sick because he ate so damn much of it lol. :)

I am so jealous you get to move to SD. I would love to live a few years of winter-free snow-free days. I am dreading it 100% I know what you mean..so glad I got that pix by the bentley fast because like 1 minute later the owner walked out of the bldg...ahhhhh
Love all your comments gals! :)
@Erica, thank you! It IS really nice to see another South Florida blogger, plus you're blog is super cool!
@SassyUptownChic, thank you, it really is exciting to be with a guy who is in the Navy, because you are right, I will get to see a lot of interesting places. I'm so excited!
@BravoeRunway, Yea, winters are brutal. But I kinda miss them. Although the Northeast where I'm from just got slammed with a snow storm in OCTOBER, so I'm kinda not missing it just yet. San Diego will be nice because it will allow me to experience seasons a little better than Florida. And yea, isn't that such an awkward feeling? Taking a picture of someone else's car haha. :)
xx Thank you ALL for your love!
Dear lord - these photos are making me drool. I am addicted to sushi - like you I can eat them everyday. If only they weren't so expensive though. The reason why my hubby and I are up to our ears in debt is because we use to charge sushi on our CC during college years - hahaha. We even got the kids addicted too - Lil'C can even eat raw tuna and salmon.
I am so jealous that you are
moving to SD - I love that place. We have family there and visit about every other year. Who knows - maybe we can come visit you and do a blog meeting ;)
I am so excited for your move out there! I bet it's going to be great. I've never even been to the West side of the country!

You'll love San Diego! I love Cali in general. The sushi on the west coast is delicious and with more asians out there asian food is delicious!
San Diego is so calm, relaxed and beautiful. Best of luck on the move!
Red Soles and Red Wine
@Just tututiny, that's the other reason I don't eat sushi as much as I'd like too, its just too darn expensive. And that's awesome you have family out there! If you ever visit let me know. :)
@Chelsea Elizabeth, thank you! I haven't been to that side of the country either, I'm so excited!
@Jen of RedSolesandRedWine, thank you! And it sounds like my kind of place - calm and relaxing. And I'm sure its going to be very beautiful. :)
xx
looks delicious;)
I would love to visit Japan some day! I just think it'd be so neat and different from home. That'd be really neat if you could live there some day.
@ Jamie Rose, I think so too! If I ever get the chance it would be a dream come true haha. :)
Thank you all for your comments, they cheer me up!
xx
I was in SD just last weekend visiting my friend! Yes, it's SUPER dog friendly. There are tons of dog parks and lots of really chill people w/pets everywhere :) As for Japanese places, I didn't eat any sushi but I'd suggest check on Yelp and look for restaurants w/the most reviews :) That usually does it :D
And if you're into breakfast and brunch, check out Hash House a go go!! :)
