Getting ready for the holidays

Now that November is moving right along I can't help but get excited for the holidays. I can't go home to see my family, just because its too expensive right now with our move being so close, but I plan on having a great time nonetheless. My sister is coming down from Charleston, SC to visit for Thanksgiving, and so is Jim's sister. I can't wait to plan the Thanksgiving menu. And then for Christmas, Jim and I plan on going up to Charleston, which is kind of a pain because we have to bring the dog but I'll be nice to get into some colder weather. We still get 80 degree highs here in Miami. I know. Only a ridiculous person would complain about that. But I do miss the cold.

That being said, I've been scouring for some holiday dresses. I don't like anything too fancy. Here are some of my picks.

Chunky Knit Jumper Dress - $86.26, ASOS

Slash Sleeve Dress with Diamante Trim - $98.84, ASOS

Kate Spade New York 'Deanna' Silk Dress - $395

Beaumonte Faire Lace Dress - $42.99, Ruche

And I couldn't starting thinking about dress ideas without thinking about some eye makeup ideas as well. So I found some inspiration from Pinterest.

All makeup images I obtained from Pinterest, obviously the last two are from mizzchievouz.blogspot.com, and Keikolynn.com. Kinda obsessed with the green.

For me, there's nothing like getting pretty for the holidays. It adds to that warm atmosphere that family brings with them. What about you guys? How early do you all start getting ready for the holidays? Or what do you like best about the holidays?

Dont worry, I always complain about the warm weather too. It was warm here in September and I was complaining that it should be colder! I love these picks, especially the lace dress. xo

I love the chunky knit sweater dress and lace dress the most - both would be great items for the holiday winter season. I haven't had time to plan anything for the holidays yet as I have to get Finals out of the way. I might have to skip Thanksgiving cooking this year too but I guess I'll just make it up for Xmas dinner ;) Have fun holiday planning!
